botcon haul, part 2

well, once everything was here & opened it seemed like a lot less. but then that might be due to the fact that the G1 soundwave & ironhide weren't for me, but actually the boy, and he has yet to open them...

here is the last of my haul, although i might be missing a few things...but here is most of the rest of it.

henkei bumblebee & my clone bumblebee:

here he is next to the classics hasbro version. the plastics are a different color, and the henkei one has light blue eyes & the actual autobot symbol, in addition to the the gold chrome details which are pretty cool.

well, i love optimus, but i also have a soft spot for hot rod. especially since so many fans seem to hate him. i knew i wanted the revoltech one, but the other one was bought on a whim. i think he is the energon version? i am not sure, his box was in japanese. i love that he transforms into a truck. he looks pretty goofy in bot mode, though.

these fisher price gobots were a gift from mr. terrific. they are super cute, and i love them! someday i should try & find the little cheetor one...

and i squarely blame nala for this purchase. the japanese guys had prime, megatron, & magnus nike shoes. i thought they were so weird, but on the last day mr. terrific gave me $25 show dollars and the japanese guys were marking down everything so they didn't have to take it back with them, so i got him. and yes, he is totally weird! but i actually quite like him.

not pictured, but also part of the haul, is a my clone soundwave, my signed botcon poster, & a KO devastator (which hasbro doesn't approve my purchasing of, too bad i say!). alright, i need to get back to craft show prep...

botcon haul, part 1

well, i didn't expect to get this little guy, but he was an excellent price, and mib! i stood at the edge of the tall man's booth while mr. terrific was looking at something else, and spied a blue box with an armada prime picture on it. as i walked over and picked it up, the dealer told me it was a crystal convoy. i nearly jumped for joy.

i was also lucky that mr. terrific let me buy the purplemus off him. from an e-mail that had been forwarded to me i knew that my only chance at getting the black rodimus was to drag my tired butt into line saturday morning at 8:30 and hope they didn't run out by the time i made it the front of the line. they still had sets when i got up there, and not only did i get my black rodimus, but i also sold the megatron i had no interest in right away to mr. terrific. which was great! i got everything i wanted!

botcon 2008

i made it back this morning. it was 3 days of craziness, and i had a great time. i also bought so many toys, and yet it was nothing compared to mr. terrific! or even mr. nala...it was awesome to meet despotes, and ramen junkie too. most of the time i didn't feel odd being a girl there, except when the dragged along female companions kept asking me who dragged me there, to which i had to explain i went voluntarily... mr. terrific was super duper nice to basically let me tag along behind. he knew what was going on, and i felt pretty clueless.

i was a little afraid the interacting would be tough for me, but actually it was pretty easy. being with other introverts made it easier for me to be the one to ask questions and be all out going.  anyway, here are some pictures from the trip!

here is the pile of loot from saturday...i wound up getting a couple more on sunday...in all i got: crystal convoy, botcon black roddy, botcon purplemus, KO little devastator, gobots from mr. terrific,   japanese classics bb, my clones soundwave & bb, revoltech roddy, and the g1 reissues soundwave & ironhide were for the boy. after this pile i also got: japanese boxed energon rodimus, the japanese tennis shoe magnus (i blame you nala!!), and wst prowl.

after the casino games came to an end, they awarded the contest winners for the customs. mr. terrific won for the diorama category, which was very cool!

it was a fun trip! i don't know if i can do it again next time, but i am pretty happy i got to go this time! if you want to see more pictures i posted them at flickr.

alright...i gotta get ready for my craft show, and anyone who wanted buttons but didn't get them, i will be adding them to my etsy shop in the next couple of days, and sending out replacements to those of you who i promised to! :D

the cochroach that ate cincinnati!

in only a couple of days i will be in the cincinnati area spending money on toys. sounds like a dream come true! too bad i also have a ton of work to do in the meantime, and during too. i am prepping small handsewing projects to take with me to work on & finish for a craft show i have the week following botcon.

i have been curious how people find eachother there, so i am posting a totally dorky picture of myself... we are bloggers behind websites, or board members with user pics. it is funny because whenever i do a craft show i am no longer really teresa, i am actually my crafty persona, "sewing stars". but this is my vacation from my crafty persona. so should i fill out a hello my name is and put "puppylove" on it? will you all know its me? will you be too shy to even say hello if you knew it was me? i think i might be too shy to run up to people and say hello... that is the curse of being an introvert. it is easy to talk online, but in person it is like a whole other deal.

so yeah, i will be there. if you see me say 'hi'. i seem shy at first, but i will warm up...

also, i know a lot of you are already leaving, but i won't be there until friday...so see you then? maybe?

making wishes

bumblebee is looking over my wishlist. i have set my budget, and now all i have to do is work on the 'to do list' under his feet. which is a list of things to sew for a show i am doing. in fact, i shouldn't even be updating this blog, i should be updating my other one. but showing pictures of inside out stuffed animals isn't as cute or interesting as bumblebee...the closer it gets, the more excited and sort of nervous i get too... i have a lot to do, and not a lot of time, and i sort of just threw this whole trip in the middle of it all. well, alright enough procrastinating. i gotsta sew up some stuffs so i can buy toys! :D

spend thrift.

i keep thinking about how much i think i will spend at botcon. i also think this needs to be like a trip to vegas... i need to set a limit for myself, in order to keep it fun. but how much? and will i be able to control myself i see a botcon 2005 ratchet or that crystal convoy? must take another look at my budget, and guilt myself over the plane ticket cost... it is so close now!!

ever since reading shadowbot's review of the little armada prime and his many molds i have been wanting to find 2 more of them now, the ultra magnus one (hopefully already opened, minus the ugly extra bot & arms already fixed), and now that awesome crystal convoy one (which i know is totally hopeless, but i can dream right??). i love how much expression is packed into such a tiny little face.

so i have been making myself a list of things to look for at botcon, including the ultra magnus version of the mold for sure. i also want to collect a bunch more wst ones if possible when i am there. aside from that, i am mostly excited to stand in lines to meet celebrity voice actors, and make them sign things for me. seems rather silly actually...but you know, go with the flow i guess...

it is also happening one week before a craft show i am suppose to be in, so i will be locked up in my room at night sewing away... oh well! so do any of you guys like meet up for dinner or do most of you all come with family in tow and only bot it during the day?

now make a list...

all i can think about is what will i buy? what will i look for? i mean, its a given that i want to find more wsts. i also will be keeping an eye out for that armada prime painted up as ultra magnus. but really, what more would i want to find? i am at the moment awaiting the tfa transformers & classics 2.0. i am not really into the G1 toys, but i told my boy that i would get him a couple of reissue ones if he tells me which ones he wants. i love the newer toys, though. they are more posable, and look so great for the most part. i will have to give this some thought, and visit other people's flickr galleries to see what else is out there. i guess it will come down to which one is staring back at me and seemingly begging me to take them home, just like mini-optimus did.

plane ticket bought, hotel room reserved, and i am off to botcon '08! woo!
