sweet gorilla of manilla!

Gorilla01

yesterday afternoon i finally got around making this fuzzy gorilla. it has been something rattling around in my brain for sometime now. i used one of those microplush blankets to make him out of. it was a messy affair, with much lint brushing involved, but i am happy with the results!

the weekend will mean i will get more stuff made, including those elephant kits i can't seem to keep in stock! so on monday check back to see them restocked again. have a great weekend all!

Coffeeteafinal01here are the final versions of my hot beverage plush dolls. coming to a webshop of mine soon...

i was hoping for an update by this friday, but it might wind up being monday instead, so i can make some more stuff... i just got my re-order of stamps, so i will be adding more mr. bunny stamp sets to the shop too.

the mail has been good to me lately, i also got my new postcards for sample packs!

i wish i was better...there would be more sewing goodness if i was more up to it...

baby animals everywhere...

Babyanimalsmonkey
one of my favorite patterns to make is the sleepy bunny & blanket. i decided to expand the pattern to make other sleepy baby animals too. a monkey, kitty, elephant, puppy, & bear...

these will be part of a shop update i am working on currently. i feel like i have been sewing & experimenting a lot lately, but often my experiments are met with failure, or else i feel like i can do better. i often feel like that when i make something, its okay, but i know i can do better! so i keep on sewing...

mrow?

Kittydoll03
after i got home yesterday from my current temp job i had a little vision tickling my brain of a kitty that was a doll. i sat at my sewing machine and quickly cut up some fabric and made this! she is thread jointed like the apple head dolls, and i was sure to pick a fabric with kitties for her dress. i am not sure how i feel about her...but i am going to attempt a black kitty next...

i forgot how many thousands of degrees below zero it was...

Penguins1_2
where have i been? sewing. sorry i haven't updated...i am almost done with this batch of penguins, and next up to work on are the attack of the squids already gathering in a huge pile. so much to do, and so little time. i guess that is how it goes! in fact, i better head to bed to get rested up and let my poor pin pricked hands take a little rest before starting in on things again tomorrow! which is halloween...yay!

bones, bones, brittle little bones!

there is a big 'to do list' of everything i want to get finished for the shows. i have been picking a few items a day to work on & finish. but i find that the list sometimes makes me want to do something totally unrelated. if i manage to get a bunch of stuff done i have given in to this weird extra burst of creativity. this is one example of what i have made:

Skeleton21
Skeleton22
i think he actually came out pretty cute. i might make another one if time allows...i made him so he is thread jointed, out of a super soft micro fleece blanket.

well, back to the grindstone, or uh, sewing machine in my case...

you changed the outcome by measuring it!

more pumpkin goodness...can you tell i am ready for fall?

you'll rot your teeth!

well, here it is at a store! therese laskey's softies book, and my little toothy on the cover smiling at passers by! i got my copy in the mail the other day, and it a really gorgeous book. chronicle always makes the best books! i am so thrilled to have a pattern in here. i have seen the book at several independent stores, i have yet to wander into a border's to see if they have it there yet, but i think all the patterns are really awesome, and there are even 2 needle felting patterns including one fron jenn docherty!

in other sewing related news, last night a funny little critter was created. not on my list of 'to do's, but the cooler weather totally got me thinking about fall...
