well, i finally snagged him. there is only one of the bendy prime molds i want left, that is the japanese scourge one...someday... he is pretty nifty, and right now his arms are on backwards. i am not sure if i have the courage to tap out the pins and try to fix him myself...
not only does he make a nice addition to the armada of armadas, but he looks awesome with his other bots in white too...
i am in california for a brief trip. i of course brought some toys with me to take pictures of... and there are some toys here from my childhood... old school meets new school...
after spending money at botcon, it seems rather ridiculous that i just bought these. i got the wst jazz super cheap! and i have been wanting the alternator jazz for a while. i hesitated because in the box he is expensive, i got this one loose for a lot less. he is very cool, but i as soon as i came home with him, i hopped on the repro labels site, and got him a proper G1 set. so soon i can decorate him to make him look a little more jazzy.
when i do allow myself an online toy buying binge, i do my best to spread it out over a few days. that way, the toys arrive staggered, and i can open & enjoy them each as they arrive. because, well, for me at least, opening a new toy is like reliving childhood. i hate to waste that excited new ooo & ahhh feeling in just one afternoon. somehow my plans didn't work this time... the items i ordered from the US, one package came super duper fast, and the other quite slowly, so now i am backed up on new toys to open. i decided to open the busou shinki, murmeltier, yesterday:
that was the package that came slowly. the one that came super fast had more to do with the fact i am totally unable to control myself, and found a guy in ohio who was yeah, scalping them, but i wanted them so badly!! and the waiting was killing me...besides he threw in the robot heros as extra goodies!
they remain sealed in their little plastic pods for now. but later today i will be freeing them. also later today a bunch of kitchen rement sets & yet another shinki will be tossed on my doorstep...that is an international order, that is coming super fast... next time i need to be more careful when considering shipping times...
it seems totally silly that i bought this guy saturday. i am 2 weeks away from a toy buying binge...but everytime i went into the toy vault, he was there. sadly transformed into his awful truck mode. he has been there for almost 2 months, and on my last trip there i decided he needed to be rescued.
ever since reading shadowbot's review of the little armada prime and his many molds i have been wanting to find 2 more of them now, the ultra magnus one (hopefully already opened, minus the ugly extra bot & arms already fixed), and now that awesome crystal convoy one (which i know is totally hopeless, but i can dream right??). i love how much expression is packed into such a tiny little face.
so i have been making myself a list of things to look for at botcon, including the ultra magnus version of the mold for sure. i also want to collect a bunch more wst ones if possible when i am there. aside from that, i am mostly excited to stand in lines to meet celebrity voice actors, and make them sign things for me. seems rather silly actually...but you know, go with the flow i guess...
it is also happening one week before a craft show i am suppose to be in, so i will be locked up in my room at night sewing away... oh well! so do any of you guys like meet up for dinner or do most of you all come with family in tow and only bot it during the day?

last year was actually the first year i ever attended a botcon. mostly because it was in my hometown here, and i walked over with the boy, and we spent saturday wandering around. well, the boy wandered around, i sat in a hallway for 2 hours to get to meet peter cullen, but i digress... basically my going or not going will come down to timing & funds. sadly i can't say i will go for sure or not until some things go through for me. but! if i do indeed decide to do it, should i just pay the $10 entry fee the day of? or should i go ahead and fax in a form and get the whole primus package thing (i don't really care if it is the 2005 pack that is fine with me)? i mean, does the extra money down mean extra coolness? or not? what the hell is casino night and would i really want to go? anyone...? anyone...? bueller?
yeah so... i have been thinking about botcon, and whether to take a little trip to go for saturday, and maybe sunday. i missed seeing David Kaye last time, and unlike everyone else, i would make him sign something with sesshomaru on it... that aside, i might be able to afford it, but then, it seems like a silly thing to spend loads of money on. the plane ticket and hotel won't be cheap, plus meals and paying to get in... also, it happens one weekend before a craft show i am doing. i could always take work with me, afterall crafting is portable most of the time, but still... do it? or don't bother wasting the money? is it wasted money to get to meet some awesome fellow geeks in person? yeah...i just don't know. any opinions?
